During World War I, quiet Poperinge grew into a bustling British garrison town just behind the front. Every day, thousands of soldiers passed through on their way to and from the front. Amid pubs, cinemas and busy streets, Talbot House offered a unique place of tranquillity and equality.
Founder ‘Tubby’ Clayton established the house as a clubhouse for all soldiers, regardless of rank. Today, you can spend the night there yourself and experience what this place meant to so many. Step inside a living piece of history.

Payment in full must be made within seven days of confirmation. If payment isn’t made, your booking may be cancelled. As Talbot House is a small guesthouse, run as a charity, we must be strict. when it comes to cancellations to order to protect the club. Depending on your notification, a cancellation percentage will be charged. The remainder of the money can be returned to the sender.
