Hotel Astel has a rich history, and came into the hands of new owners in 2012. They had the hotel renovated and restored it to its prior grandeur. Today, Hotel Astel is a four-star hotel with various types of rooms, ideal for any type of stay on the Belgian coast. The hotel offers double and family rooms, which can accommodate up to four people. Those who like to spend their holidays in larger rooms will certainly feel right at home in the superior rooms.

Each room type will provide you with ultimate comfort during your stay. The rooms are equipped with luxury comfort beds, LED TVs with satellite channels, free wireless internet access, USB charging point, ambient lighting, spacious and modern bathrooms with bath and shower ... You will be personally welcomed by a member of the Hotel Astel family at the front desk, and during the breakfast buffet you can enjoy a wide range of bread, spreads, drinks and fresh fruit. Breakfast is always included in the room price.

The hotel is also home to Brasserie Astel (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays). Its atmosphere and decor are unique to De Haan: a warm, rural look combined with clean, modern decor. Everyone is welcome here and it has become renowned for its delicious, fresh, home-made dishes, coffee, fresh pancakes and waffles and friendly service.

Fancy a drink in the weekend? Why not come to Bar Astel! This bar was opened in the hotel basement in the summer of 2016. Everyone is welcome. Ask for the opening hours during your stay.

Hotel Astel is situated a mere 100 meters from the beach: ideal for catching some wind, building a sand castle or enjoying a romantic sunset. You will already have noticed that Hotel Astel is located in De Haan. The hotel was built in the late 20s and has the Belle-Epoque look that is so typical for De Haan. The “Concessie”, in which the hotel is located, has now become a protected villagescape.

De Haan is the ideal base for your holiday, as the most beautiful village on the Belgian shore is both tranquil and central. Brugge, Blankenberge and Oostende, for example, can be reached with the utmost ease. Taking the coastal tram will smoothly lead you through every municipality on the Belgian coast.
